Whidbey Art Trail Membership Information
The Whidbey Art Trail, working in partnership with the Whidbey Island Arts Council & Whidbey Arts Marketing Alliance, is a non-profit arts organization promoting the arts on scenic Whidbey Island, in Puget Sound of Washington State. We are committed to establishing an internationally recognized arts destination by marketing creative artists and other arts venues through the Artist Trail, our website and a full-color brochure with map.
Basic Qualifications for Participating Artists
- You must be a professional artist .
- You must actively maintain a studio with (preferably) a separate entrance to the outside.
- You must meet all local zoning codes for maintaining a studio on your property, and have liability insurance covering the property.
- Art Galleries are welcome as members.
- Businesses such as alpaca farms that sell their fiber products and accept visitors to their property, are welcome to participate.
- Ideally, you should have a web page to link the Whidbey Art Trail.
- Commit to 2 hours of volunteer time over the course of the year.
There are 2 categories of Membership:
- Membership is $240 for display in the brochure, to include an images, studio hours, contact information, location on map, and tagline describing your art.
Membership Benefits
Brochures
We distribute 8000 brochures in the membership year in the following ways:
- Ferries: The WSF routes Clinton/Mukilteo & Coupeville/Port Townsend are kept fully stocked for the season, which runs from June 1st 2019 to May 31st 2020.
- The island chambers are also stocked, including Oak Harbor, Coupeville, Langley, Freeland, and the Clinton - Visitor Kiosk.
- Off-island chambers stocked include: Bellingham, Mt Vernon, Anacortes, La Conner, Mukilteo and Burlington (important because many Canadians stop there on the Cascade Loop trail to Whidbey). Periodic distribution to Lynnwood and Bellevue.
- Local business and service venues are stocked in Oak Harbor, Coupeville, Greenbank, Freeland, Langley & Clinton.
- Membership distributes brochures to customers, and takes to shows and festivals.
