Mary MacGowan is a Pacific Northwest native who grew up along the beaches of Puget Sound. Her summers were spent wandering the shores of Penn Cove, famous for its mussels. Influenced by the works of a French artist, Mary began seeing the play of light and color in the Pacific Blue mussel, wild and farmed. Mary uses both as she creates 3-Dimensional, original art work. Each aluminum-framed work is distinctive in color and design because each shell is unique. In addition, the viewer's interpretations of the contemporary art work change as viewing angles and light sources change. Mary will work with you to design unique wall art to fit your special space.
