Weaver’s Song Textiles Studio

Tradition and contemporary design, woven thread by thread

Textiles reflect human creativity, blending color, texture, and story. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship and contemporary exploration, I design functional art and lasting objects on multiple looms, including kitchen towels, scarves, and handbags for everyday living.

Danette Sulgrove
Weaver’s Song Textiles Studio

Danette Sulgrove is a Washington State native, born in Pullman and a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and minors in Women’s Studies and Political Science. After nearly 30 years in healthcare management and administration, she turned her focus fully to textile arts.

Inspired by her great grandmother, Danette began with crochet, needlework, learned to spin, and has woven for nearly three decades. Since 2015, she has worked on organizing weaving retreats and she has participated in the Whidbey Working Artists Open Studio Tour since 2018.

Danette and her husband have lived on Whidbey Island since 2002, where she is building a new working studio that will also host weaving classes, retreats, and textile art workshops.
